MEAT PLATE
‘Worst Demo Tape’
I’ll say this first and foremost, I really enjoy 2 piece bands. My favorite being GODSTOMPER and I’m sure I’m not alone in that. To me, they pretty much set the standard in 2 piece grind mechanics.
Now let’s head right over to another 2 piece, also residing in California and featuring a member of FlatOut. FlatOut did put out a record on Give Praise so I might be a little biased but I think that’s okay.
MEAT PLATE have come to party and they brought some brutal tunes with them.
Two piece blast masters. Stop and Go blast parts. Slow and Low parts. Fast and Harsh sections. All the perfect ingredients for a floor moving banger.
The vocals are mostly low, growled burps bellowed out from beneath the surface.
For me, I actually hear a few similarities to GODSTOMPER which is always a major plus at the end of my day.
Favorite track on their demo (singular release) is ‘Tough Look.’ The lead-in is right where it should be, sounding like they have been doing this for years.
This is raw and tough. For a demo, this is the perfect recording and the perfect way to listen to this.
I won’t be blasting this when I pick up my son at school but maybe you can spice up the PTA meeting with some of this samples on this monster.
