They call it vomit grind and have been making people violently ill since 2018. I am of course talking about MEPHITIC CORPSE.
They just blew chunks and then released a brand new album via 625, Extremely Rotten Productions and Headsplit Records.
Gag fuel vocals rev up over a blasting drum machine gun, while the rest of the ensemble cast carries a metallic tinged punk explosion to get you from point A to point B.
Old school death metal leads you through the harsh reality of life. I am listening to this and am leaning towards a lo-fi grind, BUT in a very good way. I think a lot of bands try to polish this stuff up and honestly for me it ruins the whole personality of the record.
Death grind, gargling guitar leads that carry the record make it so that it’s almost like a multiple part story. Each song feeds of off the one before it and leads into the song after it in a certain way, that it’s almost like one song. In a way that easily flows through the entire album. You can easily sit and listen to this and have no thoughts of turning it off.
This is some heavy and thick death metal that reeks of grind influence. Harsh and noisy. They even have a few short guitar leads, they are not out of place and just add a new element to the overall package.
Seriously though, don’t eat a big meal and listen to this. It might get a little chunky.
MEPHITIC CORPSE will be heading out on tour as well as hitting Maryland Deathfest. So load up the car, load up the Pepto and hit the road to vomit heaven!
